Usain Bolt dumps Man Utd for new favourites Real Madrid

Olympics sprint champ Usain Bolt says he's dumped Manchester United to cheer on Real Madrid.

Bolt admits he grew up supporting United, but explained: "Ruud van Nistelrooy is my favourite soccer player and therefore I supported him in Manchester, but now his club is Real Madrid and they're now my favourites because he is here.

"And also there is Cristiano (Ronaldo), who is a great friend."

Bolt saw Real defeat Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday and added: "It was a nice game and competitive, the one I most liked was Lass, who scored one goal and looks a bit like me when I play!"

hmm.. if they taught him how to play football properly maybe he could carry the ball from one end of the field to another in record time? haha... put his fastest man record to good use...

Read carefully. He admitted that he supported Manchester United because of RVN and now, he's supporting Real Madrid because RVN is over there. In what way is that fickle minded?

If Manchester United players swap clubs with Chealsea players, would you still support Manchester United? After all they players make up the history of the club, what's wrong with supporting a different team if your favourite player moves?

then it would not be team support, more like player support...no wonder boybands strive....

likewise are you gonna call the person daddy if he gave you $?

that's way different

if you wanna use the example of father, you should think along the lines of stepfathers instead; same title, different person (same club, different players)

in anycase, ppl nowsday sibei fickle minded.

there are truth in some of the news there also.

if you only believe it if it's from some where more "trustworthy" to you.

and here's another one from the official site of real madrid

here's the interview when he said

and here's another "trustworthy" source for you, from a man utd forum

i chose tribalfootball for it's content because it's shorter, and it's easier for ppl to read rather than one long page of words talking abt the same thing.

Ok his words got a little twisted...

However, with no local team taking his fancy, his overseas affections were originally split. “If you’re a kid in Jamaica, you pick an English side. Like lots of kids, when I was young I said I was a fan of Manchester United and then Van Nistelrooy started playing for them a bit later. But as soon as he moved to Real, my allegiance followed him as he’s a great goalscorer but I still count Man United as my ‘English team’.

Cantona just needs to give his bugger a flying kick to wake up his idea!

well i'm not supporting a particular player in my team, i'm supporting the club as a whole so this isn't applicable to me.

I guess you don't see the picture, how if you favorite player retires? Then you support no club? Loyalty is to the club and not their players. Ect, if John O'Shea would to get transfered out of Man United, I would still be supporting Man United, because favorite players come in secondary, club is primary.
