Arsene
Wenger is seeking to brink
Salomon
Kalou across London to join
Arsenal.
Having lost Emmanuel Adebayor, the Ashburton Grove outfit are in
the market for a striker, but will not pay over the odds for
anyone.
However, according to the News of
the World, the Gunners believe they can snare Kalou for
a price of around £7 million. The Ivorian's contract expires next
summer, so Chelsea might be keen to cash in on him now.
Carlo Ancelotti has previously stated that he wants Kalou to remain
at Stamford Bridge, but the fact that he has not yet been offered a
new contract suggests that all offers will be considered. He
currently earns £45,000 per week, and Arsenal are ready to improve
that to around £70,000.
A 'Chelsea insider' was quoted as saying, "Salomon is flattered by
Arsenal's interest, but at the moment he is fully committed to
Chelsea."
