New Manchester City striker
Carlos Tevez has rejected suggestions from Manchester United that his move was all about
money.
The Argentinean secured a £25million move to Eastlands this
summer after spending two years on loan at Old Trafford.
Tevez said in the Daily Mirror: "I am not bothered
about Alex Ferguson. This is in the past and Manchester City is in the present.
"Ferguson is pre-occupied with me and always talking about the
money aspect. But that was not my motive for this move, and I will
prove myself with goals.
"I respect United fans because they supported me from day one
and I think they will understand my decision.
"The Manchester derby will be special to me. I want to give
everything and show something special to the City fans.
"I have had big challenges throughout my life and now I am ready
for another. City is a big project but I am excited.
"We have the best attack in Europe - Robinho, (Roque) Santa Cruz, (Emmanuel) Adebayor,
(Shaun) Wright-Phillips. It is very strong.
"I am convinced City will reach the top level in Europe in just
one year because it is a strong, ambitious club."
