Newcastle United are still
paying Michael Owen in the region of £50,000-a-week despite his
move to Manchester United.
The Sunday Sun says the Magpies are still obliged
throughout July to pay Owen the difference between his salary at St
James’s Park and his new £50,000-a-week deal at Old Trafford.
That means that as well as having paid him in full for the first
few days of the month, Newcastle have to stump up £55,000 a week to
Owen until the end of the month.
