Manchester United do not expect Michael Owen shirts to be racing out of the club's megastore.

An employee at the club's megastore admitted to The Sun: "As far as I know, no one has asked for an Owen shirt.

"We haven't got his number yet which might have had an effect. We are not expecting a big demand even when that is known.

"We print about 3,000 for Wayne Rooney but we'll be doing nowhere near that for Owen."

Lol all the Man Utd fans are still suffering from owen transfer move shock.

I think some dun like that his ex club was liverpool, man utd hated rivals. some fans in england can be hardcore one. anything from their hated club, they dun like even if the player were to join their rivals.

if im a man utd fan, why would i want to buy his shirt ? would any of you guys here buy?

Talk about biased-ness.

Come on lah, Owen has been in EPL for so long.

Proved his skills, just because he went to newcastle and is injury prone so he is 'not as good' as rooney?

No way man, Owen proved his skills was better than rooney. And fans just thought Owen = Injury. Injury = 'lousy' 'lousy' = can't play better.

Get a life.

Turncoat.

Perhaps this has got to do with the fact that Michael was formerly from Liverpool

Owen don't even have a number yet so no point talking about selling shirts...

And I don't think the store has any on sale currently until they know what number he is on...

Anyway, United was never a club obsess with shirt sales... Fergie himself discourage all those marketing stuff as it can take the players away from the squad training a few times in a month...

i kinda feel that he will get 7 lol

i kinda feel that he will get 7 lol

Lol. But seldom in Man Utd does number 7 been given to a striker, if i am not wrong.

zocoss SG

United only have the numbers 7, 27, 32 and 42 onwards available... the rest are all occupied.

Valencia and Michael Owen are so far the 2 new senior arrivals...

My thoughts are, Owen will get Tevez's number 32 & Valencia may get 7 or 27... lol

I think Valencia will get 7, unless mayb if Young comes.

Other numbers made available due to players being sold or went out on loan...

Rodrigo Possebon's No. 34

Mayb they will do some squad number changes lor. Like some youngster number exchange or something.

omgukilledkenny SG

Give those crazy numbers you see in Seria A lah, like Zamorano last time wear "1+8" which officially meant "18" not 9. So give Owen "2+7" lor since "27" is available.

jay_rocks SG

so if i'm a supporter of SAFFC, i wouldn't want to buy the jersey of a player being transferred from home united then

zocoss SG

I wouldn't mind really...

Can only imagine when the United vs Pool match comes along and you wearing a Owen United shirt... lol

Extra effect...
