cos i had always been in crisis.

it affect me in a good way cos i like to buy stuff from the states and the bad economy makes things cheaper

No retrenchment/pay cut now doesnt mean it wont happen down the line. We're still in the midst of this gloom period and anything can happen.

For me, I'm cutting on expenses and saving as much as I can. Less splurging on expensive items, eating at restaurants less, buying less clothes.

True. But I am working in the government sector so confirm plus guarantee plus chop won't get retretch and won't get pay cut
