Benitez hopes to raise £20M with fringe players sale

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez hopes to raise transfer funds by selling fringe players this summer.

The Mirror says with the likes of Ryan Babel, Andrea Dossena, Andriy Voronin and Sebastian Leto all up for sale, Benitez could raise another £20m for his kitty.

And that will allow him to bid for Valencia winger David Silva, plus a top-class defender such as Portsmouth’s England international Glen Johnson or Spain centre-back Raul Albiol.

Thats how much his fringe players are worth? I wonder how much money he will lose in their sale

Well, that's precisely why they are categorized as 'fringe' players isn't it?

If you're a fringe player, you don't command large transfer fees, makes sense.

Why don't they add these people to the 'fringe players for sale' list, only 4 not enough. Maybe can earn another 10m pds to pay for Glen Johnson.

By the way, i feel rather sorry for liverpool after reading the title of this thread again (Benitez hopes to raise £20M with fringe players sale) and comparing it to the recent shopping spree by spanish giant Real madrid.

no one can spend like RM, it seems the whole spain is behind them.

imagine their spending in such a depressed economy.

but coming back to Lpool, normally Rafa would have walked by now, given the penny change he has to work with..
