Splash out on Chelsea’s fantasy football team, Lampard
tells Abramovich
Frank Lampard has urged Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich to sign
the ‘fantasy’ superstars that can turn the team into genuine
contenders for the Barclays Premier League and Champions League
next season.
The Chelsea midfielder, currently preparing with the England
team to face Kazakhstan in tomorrow’s World Cup qualifier, claims
the club need ‘more fantasy’ up front.
Chelsea missed out out on Kaka, who is one of Lampard’s
favourite footballers, when he turned down a move to London in
favour of a move to Real Madrid, but they are still keen on Franck
Ribery and David Villa.
Lampard said: ‘If we can add a bit more fantasy up front then
that will be a plus for us, but we’re already a good team who play
good football. ‘We need that edge, someone who can produce
something for us as a wide man or a creative striker, someone who
can work with Didier Drogba or Nicolas Anelka.
‘We want to push on again, but it’s up to the club to decide
what level we are going to be. It seems our intentions are to push
on this summer and add a couple more players who can really make us
top drawer.
