Veteran West Brom goalie Dean Kiely was not only the best player
on the park against Wigan on Saturday, he also proved that even in
the midst of a relegation dogfight you can still play with a smile
on your face. Kiely was first on the scene when the referee’s
assistant went down with an injury.
After checking the stricken official was not dying, Kiely picked
up his discarded flag and signalled for the linesman to be
substituted! Thankfully, the referee took this in good humour and
