Everton boss David Moyes admits he would love to
have a "busy summer in the transfer market" - but fears he will not
get to splash the cash.
Moyes missed out on a number of targets last pre-season
after being frustrated in having funds released at Goodison
Park.
Despite guiding the club to the FA Cup final and into Europe for
the fourth time in five seasons, Moyes is wary that substantial
funds may not be available to him to strengthen his squad.
"I would like to think it will be a busy summer in the transfer
market but I am worried it will not be," he said .
"I've had a look and have got an idea of what I would like to
do, but I need to wait and see what finances are made
available."
Moyes believes the failure to strengthen his squad early last
summer hindered his side's progress at the start of the season.
"Someone told me the other day if the season had started in
October we'd be in the Champions League places," added Moyes.
"Buy you don't. You start in August and you have to be
ready."
