Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing wants a summer move to Liverpool.

The News of the World says Downing will hold out for a £12million summer move to Liverpool before deciding his future.

Boro winger Downing, 24, is back on Rafa Benitez's list of targets as the Kop boss was turned down in his first bid to sign Valencia's David Silva.

He was the subject of a bid from Tottenham in January but his preferred destination is Liverpool.

What an unprofessional player! Instead of focusing on relegation battle and rallying his team to do well, he is talking about how he prefers one team over another and demoralising his whole team spirit.

I doubt he is that good anyway. I think if ryan giggs or pires is at boro, (even at their current age with no injury), boro would be free from relegation zone already.

Go Liverpool better, he is not a good enough player anyway... He just have an English passport only otherwise his price also won't be so high. Spurs are too good for him liao... I think Rooney a striker and a right footed player plays even better than him out of position on the left somemore... lol.

I don't understand why Rafa would even be interested on him... He is really a very average player only... I am still finding it hard to understand why...
