A very good match... I think Chelsea came really well prepared
and Guus didn't bother with that silly nonsense that Pool were
really invincible in the CL especially at Anfield... In fact I
think its the Pool's player who might have actually start
to belief they are very special and everyone was afraid to play
them in the CL. Cos I didn't see Pool's "chase and rush"
tactics used last night... It was either they became over-confident
or may be too tired to use that style as most of their players were
not given rest in the league unlike in the last few years...
I am usually not a person who count the chicks before
they actually happen but here I have to say Pool are dead
and buried for this tie... There is no way they are coming back
from this at the Bridge... They have to score 3 goals with or
without John Terry, its not going to happen... I actually think the
booking was a blessing as it will free Terry for the
semi-finals against Barcelona... I saw the Barcelona defender
Marquez purposely wasted time to get a yellow at the end of the
match so that he could clear his yellow cards and play
in the semi-finals... Very unsporting though the way he went
about it...
Chelsea were great last night... Its just amazing how with a
different manager but with the same set of players made... Gerrard
was mark out by Essien for the whole match until he had to go back
deep to lose him. But once he moved forward a bit, Essien was
sticking on him like his new girlfriend and never got too far
away from him... In doing so, it effectively made Pool
ineffective...
I honestly hope Chelsea win it this year if United don't... Cos
they are a good side under Guus and deserve it... And I also don't
think they are finish in the chase for the EPL title as well... I
always believe they are United's main threat... Now we'll just have
to wait and see...
