Henrik Larsson has labelled his former Manchester United
team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo a ‘diver’.
Larsson is set to go toe-to-toe with his former Old Trafford
colleague as Sweden face Portugal in a World Cup qualifier on
Saturday.
Ronaldo once again came under the spotlight during the last
seven days, throwing several tantrums and lunging in on Danny
Murphy as Manchester United lost 2-0 to Fulham.
But it is his honesty in the challenge, or lack of, that
concerns Larsson, who intends to have a captain’s word in the ear
of the referee before kick-off in Porto on Saturday.
"I intend to speak with the referee before the match to warn him
about Ronaldo diving," The Daily Mail quotes Larsson as saying.
"We must be careful, as a team, not to get caught out by that,
but so must the referee. I will be having a word with him and
telling him to keep an eye out for it."
