Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney admits he HATES Liverpool ahead of this weekend's big clash.

“I'm very excited about the match,” he said. “I grew up an Everton fan, my whole family are Everton fans and I grew up hating Liverpool. And that hasn't changed.

“I think coming to Old Trafford, it will be a difficult game for them. They know they need to win, they need the three points. I'm sure they will be up for it and we certainly will be too. It will certainly end Liverpool's chances if we win and that's why we're looking forward to it.”

hehehe. actually i dont really understand whats the mindset of having this 'derby' matches and rivalrys. i mean if it was me, i play my soccer u play ur soccer. if they are near to each other, they should just be gum with each other and play a more exciting soccer. u dont see s league tampines rovers and sengkang fc having derby matches. hahaha

something many ppl didnt know, He was part of the everton youth squad in the past, and once after scoring in an FA Youth Cup match, he revealed a T-shirt under his jersey that read, "Once a Blue, always a Blue."

Manchester United were forced to scale down comments made by Wayne Rooney about 'hating' Liverpool ahead of tomorrow's big match.

The Times says the comments were posted on United’s official website yesterday lunchtime as part of an article entitled “Rooney out to finish off Liverpool”, but they were deleted within two hours of it being pointed out to club staff. The England forward’s original quote was replaced with: “I’m also very excited about the game because I grew up as an Everton fan.”

Rooney made the remark to MUTV, United’s in-house television station, after the 2-0 victory over Inter Milan in the second leg of their Champions League first knockout round tie at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.
