David Villa’s agent has suggested that Chelsea would be
the Spanish striker's only realistic destination in England should
he ever decide to leave Valencia.
Jose Luis Tamargo also quashed any hopes Manchester City have of
signing the talented forward by branding a potential move to the
Eastlands “nonsense”.
However Tamargo did reveal that Chelsea have so far failed to
register any meaningful interest in the highly rated Los Ches star,
meaning that a stay in Spain would be Villa’s preferred choice.
"David has rejected the chance to play in England," said Tamargo
speaking to the Daily Mirror.
"It would be a nonsense to negotiate with Manchester City and
Chelsea aren't interested.
"If Valencia do decide to sell him he wants to stay in
Spain."
The likes of Liverpool, Inter, Real Madrid and Barcelona have
all been mooted as potential suitors for Villa, who has fired 18
goals in La Liga this season, but this news will put the two
Spanish giants on red alert, and firmly in the lead to
land one of the hottest properties in European football this
summer.
