Torres : the male version of Britney Spears according to
Chelsea fans...
Liverpool ace Torres, who headed the winner in
Saturday’s 3-2 win at Portsmouth, has been troubled by hamstring
injuries all season.
Boss Benitez wanted his £21.5million striker left out
of the squad for Spain’s friendly with England tomorrow.
He needs to protect Torres, 24, having let Robbie Keane
re-join Spurs in January. Benitez said: “It is obvious he is not
ready, that can be seen when he plays. “Every day I see him,
sometimes he appears to be at his best and at other times not.”
Spain and Barcelona star Andres Iniesta hopes to repeat
one of the best moments of his career against England. Iniesta, 24,
fired a superb volley in Spain’s 1-0 win at Old Trafford in
February 2007.
The midfielder said: “England are one of the world’s
best teams, everyone wants to play in this kind of game. “They are
a much stronger team now.”
