parallel import euro civic hatchback

just came back from KM. confirmed that the type r is coming from Swindon, not Japan. Guess the other saleperson gave me wrong information.

went to see the civic type r yesterday and immediately liked it - the looks, that is. i dont really need the type r.

since kah motor is not bringing in the euro civic, which looks exactly the same as the type r, less that label, i guess the only way to get it is through parallel import?

anyone knows the likely price? and advices on parallel import?

to what i understand from kah motors sales exec, they told me this euro civic is design in UK but it is coming out from the japan factory built to the euro spec. So when u order the type r from kah motors, it will still be from japan, not europe. My guess is no parallel importer will be bringing the euro design civic in.

euro civic type r can only be found at kah motor at the moment. dun think any PI brought it in yet.

There is no Japan factory producing the UK Civic Type R. It will be produced in Swindon exclusively. Type Rs are special because majority of the engine parts are hand-crafted.

If the sales exec went for product training, he would not be talking this type of rubbish. Or he could have been sleeping during training.

On a side note, cars bound for S'pore are produced according to what KM requested, so the Type R we are getting is still essentially slightly different even though it is produced in Swindon.

It's the same case for the Fit Aria, named the City in S'pore. That car is solely produced in Thailand. But you can be sure that car in Japan feels different from what we have.

Doesn't really make any sense actually... if they were built in Japan, it would be the JDM civic type R... not the UK civic type R...

I read that it was built in Swindon b4 too, but that is what i was told in KM. i guess the only way to find out is to confirm with kah motors again.

actually not much price difference in JDM and Kah Motor model. KM is $105k and JDM is $103k
