Marcos Senna has shown interest in moving to the Premiership
with moneybags Manchester City reportedly interested in the
Villarreal midfielder.
City boss Mark Hughes suffered a blow in the pursuit of a
central midfielder with Spanish giants Real Madrid clinching the
deal to sign France international Lassana Diarra from Portsmouth in
the forthcoming January transfer window.
As such, City are now looking to bring in the reinforcement in
the form of a defensive midfielder and 32-year-old Senna, who has
formerly been linked to Arsenal, is reported to be on the Eastlands
club’s radar.
The Brazilian-born Spain international is quoted as saying in
the Daily Mail: “I have heard about the big project at City and I'm
flattered by their interest.
"The Premier League is a big league and I am interested in the
challenge.
"It is complicated leaving Villarreal because I am excited by
the season and we are still involved in the league and the
Champions League.
"It would take an enormous proposition by City for me to leave
but it is not impossible."
