National Coach Radojko
Avramovic has shortlisted the final squad of 22 for Singapore’s
defence of the AFF Suzuki Cup in December.
Coach Radojko has picked an
experienced squad with over half the team seeing action in earlier
editions of the Suzuki Cup.
2008 NTUC Income Player of
the Year Aleksandar Duric will be making his debut together with
his Singapore Armed Forces FC team mate John
Wilkinson.
Notable absentees include
Fazrul Nawaz and Khairul Amri who both got injured in the course of
the 2008 NTUC Income – YEO’S S.League season.
Shaiful Esah, Rosman Sulaiman
and Hyrulnizam Juma'at are the only three uncapped players brought
into the squad by Coach Radojko.
Singapore are in Group A of
the biennial tournament alongside Myanmar, co-hosts Indonesia and a
yet to be determined qualifier with our first match on 5 December.
Group B in Bangkok features another qualifier, Malaysia, Vietnam
and co-hosts Thailand.
