Former Arsenal defender Lee Dixon believes Arsene Wenger
has made a mistake in reinstating William Gallas as club
captain.
Gallas received heavy criticism for his leadership skills last
season and, after watching his behaviour in last week’s defeat at
Fulham, Dixon feels he is not showing signs of improvement.
“I was at Fulham last weekend and spent 10 minutes watching
Gallas,” he told the Daily Star.
“He just walked around, never said anything and his body
language was very poor.
“That scares me because, though I support the manager’s policy
of bringing in young players, they must have a leader on the
field.
“I think Kolo Toure would be the right person to take over.”
