Roberto Carlos has told Chelsea he would be ‘very
attracted’ if they were to come knocking for his
services.
The former Real Madrid left back, who has long been linked with
Chelsea, currently plays his football in Turkey with
Fenerbahce.
Carlos was a key part of Luiz Felipe Scolari’s World Cup-winning
Brazilian side back in 2002 and, after the arrival of Deco, it
appears the new Blues boss is keen to recruit one or two faces he
has worked with in the past.
Furthermore, following the capture of Jose Bosingwa – as well as
Deco - Scolari seems intent on signing players who have experience
of winning The Champions League, a trophy Carlos has won three
times.
The 35-year-old admits he is yet to be contacted by a Chelsea
official, but he would be interested should they seek his
signature.
“I am content at Fenerbahce, but I am a man who likes challenges
and a move to Chelsea would be very attractive,” said Roberto
Carlos in the Daily Star.
“I understand that Felipe wants people with him who he has
confidence in and who he knows.
“As yet I have not spoken to him since he has arrived at
Chelsea.”
