well like i've said, i don't like Jose as a person but i
respected him for what he had accomplished in life.
i'll still gathered that its every manager's dream to play
attractive football just that few have had their dream realised and
of course every team would just wanna get the job done, who would
play to lose?
Barca's might have been your most attractive team in the world
around that period of time but its still left to be debated if its
the most liked team.
Gullit and Vialli's days.. in another words its like you
preferred them having star players but losing to your ManU.
don't really knows which is the year you're referring to but
over those period there are players like RVN, Scholes, Saha, Park,
Smith and so on.. who all did a good job moving ManU forward,
however, i don't know how you classified them as not ready, Ronaldo
and Ronney played and scored almost 30-50 goals between for the
past 3 season.
Arsenal's team is young but they're ready if you asked AW.
Peter Kenyon is a rat who can lies thru his teeth.
things would be the same again if ManU is to win another title
or two, ppl will pick on just about anything to
justified themselves, just like how they pick from
Ronney, Keano, Rio, to ManU's fans.. they just need to
justified themselves and with Chelsea's spending and Jose,
they have the perfect reason for it.
no i don't, Grant is just crap if you ask me, IMHO, he was
there just to show Jose that its Roman's money win them the 2
EPL title.
double standard? to have you quoting this would have
really disappointed me since i always enjoyed exchanging views with
you, its their tactics that we're talking about not who
can predict who's going to get injuried, predicting the future
probably doesn't comes under tactics i guess?
Enough of Jose as you only seem to see the titles he won and seem
to condone his antics where no other manager his taken it to
such extreme...
Like i have said earlier, I doubt very much its every manager
who wants to play attractive football... Only the very few. There
are 20 teams in the EPL and i can say at the very most and
being on the plus side, half tried to do so and only half of that
actually manage to do well at it. Of course no one play
to lose unless they are on the take... But generally, most play
just to stay in it. Its very difficult to say if its the players
they have or not but i still belief its the manager that choose to
go defensive or not... Newcastle under Big Sam wasn't attractive...
Keegan took over the same players and change their style of play...
Overall, they both did averagely well with different styles... Man
City had an attractive squad but under Sven, well... lets just say
they weren't going all out for it shall we...
Barca wasn't just the most attractive team to me, I
said there was a general consensus across Europe and the world
that they were playing the most attractive football in that
continent... As much as i don't like barce as well, i also had
to agreed they were good for that period of 2, 3 yrs and i
belief many agree with me even if they are not a supporter of that
club.
Ok the Gullit and Vialli's days... now you are making it
personal here... Believe it or not, there is nothing to do with
United here alright... It would be better that you not assume again
towards this direction... I can tell you it was their methods
that got many to take note of them, just like Spurs and
Portsmouth today... Many just like to see the underdogs do
well sometimes... Just like United were the underdogs during
the 80s. That Chelsea got the respect and support from
neutrals. Just go and ask many real Chelsea fans before Roman came,
and they will tell you they started to support that club for this
very reason... you can also add Hoddle in there as i think he
was the one who started it... Their pattern of work were very
impressive and believe it or not, they were actually playing
attractive attacking football under those 3 managers...
I referred to the years from mid 2003 to mid 2006. RVN
spent 5 yrs at United, the first 3 yrs were very good until
2004, the next 2 were poor... he was sold in mid 2006
after a serious injuries and lost of form and ageing... Saha only
came in to play after Ruud was sold. Scholes, during that
time also had a bad injury and when he recovered, had
another problem with his eyesight and was out for almost the whole
season... Park, Smith precisely what i meant, they had players of
these qualities during their rebuilding process... which was not
good enough... Others like Quinton
Fortune, Silvestre, Tim
Howard, and an ageing Roy Keane all were first team
players... Solskjaer was consistently injured, Rio was
ban for 8 months... Heinze got injured in early Sep and was out for
the rest of the season. They depended on a young Fletcher and a Wes
Brown that even today tho improve a lot you would still feel
not good enough for the CB role. Anyway, i don't expect you to know
or understand this as you not follow them as closely...
Not ready means not mature enough yet... Still lacking in
experience... I don't know where you got your goals numbers
from 30 - 50 but Ronaldo only manager 4 in the 03/04 season... and
5 the next... and don't assume the Ronaldo then and the Ronaldo
today is the same player alright...
You are asking Wenger if they are ready? What do you expect him
to say? Just like you said no manager would play to lose you expect
Wenger to openly say his players are lousy, bad and not ready? What
will it tell the players in his squad? He is doing his best to
motivate them and not knock them down.
On Kenyon, well it certainly didn't seem like he
was lying when he said it would be a ONE horse race wasn't it?
The title race ended well before March... He was proven right.
So to you Grant was only there to show it was Roman's money
that won that 2 EPL titles? Well... So are you also one of the
believers that Chelsea bought the titles as well? Because that what
you are saying right now... there is no 2 ways about it here...
Yes double standard from some Grant hates... Like i said,
Its very convenient to blame Grant cos of his
qualifications... Every manager make mistakes... Fergie, Wenger,
Rafa too... but they can be taken as oversight and
forgotten easily... But if its Grant, it gets emphasize 100 times
to become a very big deal! The good subs he made against
Arsenal and United people forget them easily or credit it to his
assistant... how convenient...
The injuries he had to cope with losing Terry, Lampard,
Cech, Ballack and Drogba, Essien and Kalou to ACN weren't
telling and its all because he made it by continuing to win
with his second strings players... Jose couldn't cope the year
before even tho he had lesser injuries... and end up talking about
eggs from different supermarkets...
Injury and all is part of the game... Making subs is also a
tactically move... In important match where there might be extra
time, some don't even want to use one until the ET kicks in or when
a penalty is to be the decider, they will put in the players that
are more able in a penalty shoot-out... Even in a league
match, most don't used all 3 before the last 15 mins of the
match... The 3 that Jose changed were all able
bodies and not due to injuries... It was only
after the 3 changes that he got an injury to one of his
player...
But like i said, no one pick on it... Of course there
were for the first 2 week but after that... He is
forgiven... So why can't Grant be forgiven also? Because his
name is Grant and not Jose? So this not qualified as double
standard?
