Michael Ballack has declared war on his nations supporting ladies, insisting they are the reason behind Germany’s shaky start:

Sarah Brandner is only 19 years old.

Skipper Michael Ballack is furious that his team-mates have been seeing too much of their wives and girlfriends.

Ballack and his senior sidekick Torsten Frings were still fuming that the rest of the squad spent the day after their defeat against Croatia last week - which left their quarter-final place on a knife-edge - with their WAGS.

Ballack and Frings were the only two who did not see their partners because they wanted to stay focused on football.

The Chelsea star may be right in claiming a WAG presence wrecks concentration - the lovely Sarah Brandner has been knocking about, and her man Bastian Schweinsteiger was needlessly sent off in the Croatia game. On the other hand, shut up Ballack.

Simone Lambe and Petra Frings told to stay at home

There’s little room for manoeuvre on this narrow playing field as the slippery wing wonder twists and turns to get behind the defence.

Ooooh, that’s a high tackle up around Ronaldo’s neck. But for once he’s not crying foul.

Slipping past all women’s defences

There’s the final whistle and it looks like Nereida’s going to take her top off - hopefully. Come on, take it off - please...

Bye-bye to Euro babes part III

NOW the semi-finals are over we have to wave goodbye to two more teams.

Russian and Turkish fans will be making the long journey home today after falling at the final hurdle.

But although they may be gone, these babes will certainly not be forgotten.
