Dunne, 28, looked all set to leave the Eastlands this summer,
but the arrival of Mark Hughes has forced him into a rethink and
now City are looking to put an end to all speculation by offering
him a £55,000 per week deal.
The Republic of Ireland defender was disillusioned by the
unceremonious sacking of former manager Sven-Goran Eriksson and
felt a new challenge somewhere else was what he needed, with the
likes of Portsmouth, Tottenham, Newcastle and Sunderland all too
happy to accomodate him.
Now, however, it looks like City’s four-time Player of the Year
will continue to form one of the best central defensive
partnerships in the Premiership with Micah Richards, and will have
a little more pocket-money to boot!
