The Birmingham native burst onto the scene during the 2006-07
season with 10 goals in 42 appearances for the Villans.
Many thought the 21-year-old would struggle to back that up this
term, but with 11 goals in 35 Premier League outings, the pacey
striker has established himself among the most promising talents in
the country.
The England under-21 international believes he has well and truly
humbled his critics, and hopes to continue his progress over the
coming seasons.
"I definitely think I've proved the doubters wrong who thought I
was going to be a one-season wonder," said Agbonlahor.
"I feel I've had a good season. After making an impression last
season I was keen to make sure people realised I could have another
good one and I do think I have pushed on more.
"I think people now will finally believe that I can produce my form
over more than just one season and hopefully I have shut my critics
up now."
