The midfielder will be forced to sit out the last two games of
the season, starting with Everton’s clash with Arsenal today, after
suffering an abdominal injury.
With Everton looking to seal the points they need to secure Uefa
Cup football next season, Moyes has come out to insist that Arteta
will be at the club next season.
“I haven't had one phone call about Arteta. He signed a
new five-year deal a few months ago and every indication is he
wants to stay” Moyes explained.
“Not having Mikel for a game like Arsenal is a big disadvantage
because he is so talented. But this season we have shown we
have strength in depth” the Toffees boss added.
“In our own way we've been building like Arsenal, bringing
people through, making them part of a set-up that is designed to
ensure long-term stability and success” he concluded.
