They can balance it what... Its not as tho they are not making money and have to pay all at one go... That loan deal they took to build the stadium works out to a few years of instalment payment mah...

somehow, i think wenger shud spend on 1 or 2 experience players... hes got the transfer chest
but i still dunno y he insists on being so stubborn..you talk about laons repayment? their stadium filled capacity coupled with their low ceiling salary of his players should more than adequately cover, maybe after next season and if they do end up with nothing..he'll then really spend...but by then, people would want his head already..

good luck to you arsenal in the next season...

Errr... since 20m... 20% ?

Wenger is weird sometimes... He wasn't like this last time leh... Last time when the record fee was something like $15m between 1996 until 2001, he dare to spend big on some players... like Henry 11m, Sylvain Wiltord 13m, Edu 6m, Bergkamp 7.5m, Francis Jeffers 8m... That time money was bigger somemore... 8m was like half the record transfer fee kind of money...

Before 1996 where Newcastle paid Blackbure $15m for Alan Shearer... the previous highest was $8.5m where Pool paid Nottingham Forest for Stan Collymore in 1995... It was also the same time Arsenal paid $7.5m for Bergkamp.

Maybe he realised his folly of signing expensive players. Not all turned out as expected (Jeffers an ideal example but not that bad in the light of SAF's purchase of Veron). I believe it was Bruce Rioch (the previous manager) who bought Bergkamp.
