Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland is hoping his club's
uneven pitch will prove decisive in the game against Arsenal on
Sunday - but he admits the visitors 'can probably play on any
surface'.
The Latics have found it difficult to play flowing football at
the JJB Stadium this year on what manager Steve Bruce admits is the
worst pitch in the league.
But Kirkland believes the state of the pitch may give Wigan a
slight edge against the Premier League leaders.
"Arsenal pass the ball brilliantly, but goodness knows how they
will cope on our pitch," he told the Wigan Evening Post.
"Hopefully it will play into our hands, but Arsenal do have
world-class players throughout who can probably play on any
surface.
"It's going to be a very tough game and, if we can take anything
out of it, that would be a big bonus for us.
"We've got home advantage and we'll give it a right good
go."
