I am appalled that MediaCorp does not seem interested at all to broadcast this important game. Historic or not, it IS our NATIONAL TEAM. Their games deserve to be broadcast on television.

ESPECIALLY THIS WORLD CUP QUALIFIER MATCH AND THE 5 OTHER GROUP GAMES IN THIS STAGE.

How much viewership does Mediacorp expect from some BORING AMERICAN MOVIE like HOPE SPRINGS as compared to a football game like SAUDI ARABIA vs SINGAPORE.

I am certain viewership for the match would max out the HOPE SPRINGS viewership rate by 10, 20 times.

This sort of opportunity only comes once every 4 years, and our ONLY local broadcaster does not have any interest in showing the match live.

This has got to be the worst case of media monopoly I’ve ever encountered personally.

If MEDIACORP is not able to provide what the majority want, then it is time for another broadcaster to emerge. A broadcaster who will support our LIONS.

THUMBS DOWN FOR MEDIACORP.

Is it because the game will be played when everyone is sleeping in Singapore after all this is not like EPL.So who is going to be here to do live commentary?

Who is going to sleep so soon on CNY's first day?

Short Ninja SG

Yeah I forgot it is CNY in SIngapore.

Short Ninja SG

Anybody volunteer to give live commentary on this game? If not I will just go to sleep and check the bad news tomorrow.

weewee SG

i am watching iraq vs china now.

4getmenot SG

Funny how the other countries would / are broadcasting live in this crucial thrid round fixture of asian world cup qualifying round...

oh i forgot.. u only got 1 tv station xD

weewee SG

Same. Singapore press holdings’s subsidaries, mediaworks, the company who controlled channel U and I before being take over by mediacorp are all under temasek holdings so dont think can control much.

Mediacorp, SPH all under temasek holdings.

weewee SG

iraq and china 0-0 at halftime. Lame sia. Iraq got a highly disputed goal disallowed due to foul.

Anyway, china thinking of bring on sun jihai and dong fang zhuo in second half.

they want us to support our own team. They say there are more ppl supporting EPL than our own country.

Why? Because we don't even have a live telecast of the match to even support our team, the Lions!

True . The EPL thing grows in us . If you ever picked any Singaporean soccer fans and asked them for their favorite team , chances are 99% would say Manchester Utd , Liverpool , Arsenal etc ... Not the teams in our league , like Tampines , Home or SAF etc

Anyways , Singapore ftw !

weewee SG

iraqi players not happy, dive in the penalty box in the second half and get a penalty. They scored. Now its 1-0
