*Boumsong seals Lyon switch*
Lyon have finalised the signing of Jean-Alain Boumsong from
Juventus on a three-and-a-half year contract.
Boumsong's switch to the French champions had been held up while
Juve sought to secure a replacement.
The former Rangers and Newcastle defender expressed his frustration
that he had been unable to complete his transfer.
But, though Juventus have yet to bring in a new centre-half, the
Italian club have allowed the deal to go through.
Juventus have accepted a fee of 3million euros (£2.2million) for
Boumsong, who moved to Turin from Newcastle in 2006.
He becomes Lyon's third signing of the transfer window following
the arrivals of Marc Crosas and Cesar Delgado.
Lyon had been in the market for a new stopper after an injury to
Cleber Anderson compounded the club's defensive problems.
