SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON will splash the cash in January with a
striker at the top of his wish list. The Manchester City boss
expects Thai owner Thaksin Shinawatra to back him with the money he
needs for big-name signings during the transfer
window.
Eriksson said: "I have given Dr Thaksin a very long list, but I've
told him it will be shorter and shorter. "He knows what we are
thinking about and what we are talking about. "He didn't seem to be
too shocked - so that was good. "He's been informed about
everything we are thinking about maybe doing. "It's both names and
positions, Dr Thaksin has a combination of that. "If we are taking
in players, it will be those who can give something to this
team."
