Roberto Baggio has crowned Andrea Pirlo a world class midfielder
who is irreplaceable for Milan and Italy.
Il Divin Codino has now retired, but played alongside Pirlo during
the final years of his career and was very impressed.
I am happy for him and all that he is doing, said Baggio. His
vision, what he can create, what he can do all make him a genuine
world class player. He is someone Milan and Italy cannot do
without.
Pirlo revealed this week that he had received an offer from Real
Madrid last summer, but turned it down to stay with the
Rossoneri.
He went on to lift the World Cup, the Champions League trophy and
the European Super Cup.
When we played together it all depended on him and the way he
dictated the play. He always had this great ability to anticipate
how it could develop and choose the best option.
Pirlo has qualities you do not often see in world football,
concluded Baggio.
