Tottenham starlet Tomas Pekhart is hopeful that he is
closing on his first-team debut for the club.
The 18-year-old was included in the squad for the Uefa Cup clash at
Anorthosis Famagusta last week, but he did not travel as Spurs'
management realised he was not registered for the
competition.
"I was looking forward very much to travelling there and I was then
sorry it did not turn out," Pekhart admitted.
"On the other hand, it might have been a sign that they really do
count on me for the future. I hope it was not just a
coincidence."
Competition
Pekhart is ready for action, but he knows competition is intense at
White Hart Lane.
"I don't want to rush it at any cost, I want to be prepared for
that [his debut] as much as possible," he told CTK.
"I know that I could be given only a single chance to play for the
first-team. And if I didn't perform well, then I might not be given
any other.
"It is true though that to play for Tottenham's first team is my
big dream. I must work hard and be patient.
"It is true that the competition at Tottenham is huge. But for me
it is great that I can learn a lot from such champions.
"After training I often stay with them and we train at shooting, or
I can visit alone our special coach with whom we practice the
one-on-ones or technique."
