Carlo Ancelotti, losing patience with the press, refused to rule
out the prospect of signing Alessandro Del Piero.
"There's no reason why he couldn't come on a free transfer once his
contract runs out," he said of the Juventus star.
'Alex' is currently locked in negotiations with the Old Lady
hierarchy over the prospect of a contract extension, his current
deal ending next June.
With Ancelotti under increasing pressure to solve his team's
goalscoring woes, perhaps Del Piero would fit the bill. On the
other hand, perhaps he wouldn't.
After all, such speculation is hardly new, but it seems more likely
that 'Alex' will iron out the pay dispute that's currently underway
at the Turin side.
For now, though, Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco remains
unconvinced that a deal will be thrashed out, while Alex himself
has remained silent on the issue.
His brother and agent, Stefano, is confident that his client will
remain in the famous bianconeri colours heading into the new season
and beyond.
