Peter Kirkup, the linesman who denied Jose Mourinho a win in his
last Premiership game with Chelsea, has been axed from this
weekend’s matches. Kirkup mistakenly flagged when Salomon Kalou
‘scored’ in the goalless draw with Blackburn. He also flagged when
onside Marcus Bent netted for Wigan, beaten 1-0 by Liverpool on
Saturday.
