Tottenham are believed to be the latest team on the trail of
Southampton midfielder Andrew Surman.
The 21-year-old prospect is the latest cult hero at the St Mary's
Stadium where fans are used to hailing exciting young prospects
like Matthew Le Tissier, Theo Walcott and Gareth Bale who have
emerged through the ranks.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy revealed that sporting director Daniel
Comolli visited the south coast on Saturday to watch Southampton's
Championship match with barnsley and there is little doubt that he
will have taken a keen interest in Surman's form.
Tottenham are not the first premier League team to show an interest
in the young player who was born in Johannesburg.
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has already been strongly linked
with taking the player along the M27 to Fratton Park.
