Former Liverpool shot-stopper Sander Westerveld has joined Dutch
side Sparta Rotterdam on a four-month deal.
Westerveld was a free agent after failing to win a new contract at
Spanish side Almeria earlier this summer.
His signing comes as Sparta look to bolster their goalkeeping
options following reserve Cor Varkevisser's failure to impress so
far this season.
A number of other clubs were also believed to be chasing
Westerveld, but Sparta have won the race for his services.
