Sam Allardyce is reportedly interested in bringing veteran Brazil
midfielder Ze Maria to Newcastle on a free transfer.
The former Inter Milan defensive midfielder Jose Marcelo Ferreira,
but better known as Ze Maria, is a free agent after leaving Spanish
outfit Levante during the summer.
The 34-year-old is a target for several Serie A clubs, with Lazio
understood to be leading the chase for his signature.
But sources in South America have claimed Allardyce is also keen on
the experienced Brazilian and could be ready to beat off Italian
competition for his services.
