Everton boss David Moyes has insisted he needs to spend more money
if the club are to be successful despite a good start to the
season.
Moyes says cash must continue to be spent when the chance comes up
despite breaking the club's transfer record last week when landing
Ayegbeni Yakubu from Middlesbrough for £11.25m.
The boss says that is the sort of market he needs to be working in
if they are to compete with the biggest clubs in England and that
means increasing the club's revenue stream, possibly by moving
grounds.
He told icliverpool: "I think if Everton want to move on we will
need to compete. Everybody knows there's limited resources to what
we can make through Goodison and television and so on, so I think
for there to be regular signings like Yakubu, we need to look to
the bigger picture.
"Whether it was a redevelopment of Goodison or whether it was a
move to Kirkby, the fact of the matter is if we want to compete
we're going to have to find a bigger revenue stream."
