Reports in Germany claimed the 37-year-old keeper fled back there after storming out of the training ground on Thursday when he was told he was not going to face City. Wenger revealed the same day Lehmann would be missing for up to three weeks due to a recurring Achilles problem. But the German national team who were well aware Lehmann has had pain in the Achilles area were happy for him to play against England at Wembley on Wednesday even though they have important Euro 2008 qualifiers coming up in Wales and the Republic of Ireland on September 8 and 13. The German reports indicated the goalie left the training ground after his chat with Wenger and immediately travelled back to his homeland. Arsenal confirmed Wenger is in Germany, but claimed he was "there for treatment".
