Reports in Spain claim Real Madrid have agreed a deal to sign Chelsea winger Arjen Robben. The Primera Liga champions are also set to clinch the signing of Holland Under 21 international Royston Drenthe, according to the reports. Robben's future has been the subject of intense speculation this summer and it appears a resolution is now close.

The Dutchman, who has long been a transfer target of Madrid president Ramon Calderon, is thought to have agreed a move to the Bernabeu. However, Chelsea are insisting that they have not received a formal offer for the former PSV Eindhoven man.

Robben joined Chelsea for £12million in 2004 and has scored 19 goals in 104 appearances for The Blues. Real have also been chasing Feyenoord's Drenthe this summer and it is understood an accord has finally been reached between all parties.

The 20-year-old will reportedly move to Spain for 14million euros (£10million) and sign a five-year contract. Robben and Drenthe could be unveiled as Real players at a press conference on Friday.

Ajax's Wesley Sneijder could complete a trio of Dutchmen moving to Real Madrid this summer. Real coach Bernd Schuster is rumoured to be closing on completing the capture of the Holland international midfielder as well.

Something must be wrong at chelsea to let Robben leave... They are letting go probably the only player that they have got that can come on and change the game for them... If anyone deserve the $100 over thousand salary i think its him... Anything less than Shev's transfer fee wouldn't be worth it especially when he is still so young. I think they can sell him in 2, 3 yrs time and they can still get the same fee if not more... Anyway, i will be glad if he really leave chelsea... Mr. Green

MADRID, Aug 9 (Reuters) - Real Madrid have agreed to sign Dutch wing-back Royston Drenthe from Feyenoord on a five-year contract, the Spanish champions said on Thursday.

The Dutch Under-21 international, who can play at left-back or in midfield, becomes Real's fifth signing of the close season under new coach Bernd Schuster.

Spanish media reported the deal had been closed for around 14 million euros ($19.29 million).

Drenthe was one of the outstanding players on show at the European Under-21 Championship in the Netherlands in June, as he helped the Dutch retain their title.

The speedy player, who should slot in to replace former left-back Roberto Carlos, joins defenders Christoph Metzelder and Pepe, Argentine striker Javier Saviola and Polish goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek as Real's new recruits.

Drenthe's Dutch compatriot Arjen Robben of Chelsea is also on the Real shopping list.

Real travel to play Sevilla in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup on Saturday.

i seriously doubt it.

chelsea bought him for 12 million. he should easily fetch 20 million.

Saltiga SG

he is indeed one of the better attacking players with lots of flair but in a manager dominated team like ManU or Chelsea its always going to be the manger that calls the shot, players whom failed to get into the boss good books will be sold when the right offers comes a calling.

like you i'm pretty impressed with what this Robben can do but unless his injuries problem lessen if not i guess its a matter of time before Jose get pissed off (if he hasn't already) and sold him off

zocoss SG

I would say he could easily fetch anything between 25 to 30 million considering his age and he can still be re-sold again in 3 to 4 yrs time...

Saltiga SG

what currency? but seriously if he is easily worth that kind of money wouldn't he have lots of buyers now? how come just Real alone taking a keen eye on him???

The man who was death SG

i tot sneijder already stated he want to stay at ajax for at least one more season??
