Fiorentina have had an audacious bid for England international
Aaron Lennon dismissed by Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report
in La Nazione.
The Serie A outfit are said to have lodged a bid of around 16m for
the 20-year-old winger, which was immediately rejected by
Spurs.
Martin Jol values Lennon at 25m and that has meant Fiore have been
forced to move on to make their interest known in Atlético's Maxi
Rodríguez.
Pantaleo Corvino, Fiorentina's sporting director, is said to a keen
admirer of Lennon and that led the club to make a concrete
approach.
Lennon joined Tottenham for just 1.5m from Leeds United in 2003
and his rise has been impressive at the north London club.
