Robben rocking for Real

REAL MADRID are certain the long-running Arjen Robben signing will finally be completed next week. And the Spanish giants are now planning a second swoop on Chelsea to lure Germany captain Michael Ballack from Stamford Bridge. The pair could cost Bernd Schusters side £34million.

Sources at the Bernabeu say Schuster is confident deals could be in place for both players next week. But a potential sticking point could be Ballacks incredible £130,000- a-week salary steep even for a club the size of Real.

The Spaniards have been chasing winger Robben for more than a year and are offering him a five-year contract. Ballack is believed to be considering a three-year deal with the option of a fourth year. Schuster is a big fan of Ballack as the former Bayern Munich ace is a dead-ringer for Schusters playing style in his Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid career.

The two players have been mere sideshows in Chelseas pre-season. Madrids determination to capture Ballack seems to indicate he will return to the role behind the strikers which he occupied at Munich. Schuster said: I would be delighted if the club succeeds in signing me Ballack and Robben.

Its because Schuster is a big fan of Ballack... and he belief the former Bayern Munich ace is not at his best cos he isn't playing in the position he did with B Munich. The role behind the striker.

I've said before that I admire Robben as a player but i was never a fan of his sportsmanship. He's the only player who can turn the match around produce the spark when Chelsea needed it.

Ballack is even worse than Mikel last season. Enough said. Mr. Green

Robben should leave Chelsea, his talent is wasted if he carry on with them unless Jose changed his opinion on Robben's consistency and injuies problems, not trying to say Real is the best place for him as well but at least its probably better then staying in Chelsea and rot away.

*Robben hopeful of Real deal*

Arjen Robben's father and agent Hans, is still hopeful that a deal to take his son to Real Madrid will be concluded shortly.

Real are anxious to seal a move for the Dutch winger, but despite lengthy negotiations - terms have yet to be agreed.

A possible double deal including Michael Ballack was suggested over the weekend, which would have seemingly smoothed over the Robben deal too.

However, the joint move shows little signs of progressing and Robben snr is now just looking for a move to be sealed on Tuesday.

Hope for deal

"We hope that the agreement between Real Madrid and the Chelsea can be closed tomorrow [Tuesday]," Hans Robben told AS.

"Between now and Wednesday we think that everything can be solved.

"My son cannot make any sort of declaration or grant any interview until the agreement between Madrid and Chelsea is reached.

"His present club will not allow him to speak with the Spanish press until an agreement is reached.
