Eriksson targets new goalkeeper
Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is set to add a
goalkeeper to his list of summer acquisitions.
The Swede, who has signed eight new players since arriving at
Eastlands, is expected to make another move in the transfer market
after learning first-choice Andreas Isaksson, pictured, is likely
to miss the first month of the new season. The Sweden international
has sustained a hairline fracture of the thumb.

With understudy Joe Hart also injured, Eriksson has revealed he is
unwilling to begin the Barclays Premier League campaign with the
inexperienced Kasper Schmeichel.
"Unfortunately we had two goalkeepers get injured within two days,"
Eriksson told club website www.mcfc.co.uk. "It's not the best way
to start the Premier League, starting with two very young
goalkeepers. Unfortunately it's more or less a must that we bring
another keeper in."
City lost their latest pre-season friendly to Spanish side Valencia
1-0 on Saturday following a goal from David Silva.

Is it me or does this guy look like VDS?
