Tottenham are trying to tie up an £8million deal to land
Swedish midfielder Kim Kallstrom before the start of the new
season.
Jol, who has so far been thwarted in his attempts to land another
midfielder, wants to lure the powerhouse away from French Champions
Lyon to White Hart Lane this summer.
The 24-year-old has already won 33 international caps and is rated
among the best midfielders playing in French football, and Jol has
been monitoring his situation.
Jol has been searching long and hard for a left-footed midfielder
and Kallstrom has now emerged at the top of his shopping list,
while Valencia are also known to be keen.
The playmaker would also give an added threat of scoring goals from
the middle of the park and could be the final piece of the jigsaw
for Jol after he missed out on Martin Petrov.
