Diarra For Arsenal?
Chelseas tough tackling defensive midfielder Lassana Diarra could
join Arsenal this week according to the Daily Mirror.
Reports suggest that the 22-year-old will is set to join the
Gunners French contingent for around £2million.
Although playing fairly frequently for Chelsea towards the end of
last season, he does not seem to be in manager Jose Mourinhos
plans for the future.
There is already ample cover for the defensive midfield role at
Arsenal with Gilberto Silva, Cesc Fabregas, Abou Diaby, Denilson
and Mathieu Flamini all capable of filling the role, so a move for
Diarra would be seen as unlikely.
Chelsea never lost a match last season when Diarra was featured and
he has been touted as the new Makalele, but the player is entering
the final year of his contract and may move elsewhere in search of
first team football, although this would not be guaranteed at
Arsenal.
