Liverpool defender Steve Finnan has agreed a new three-year
deal at Anfield.
Finnan is expected to tie up the formalities of the contract
extension when the side returns from their pre-season trip to Hong
Kong.
The Republic of Ireland international has established himself as a
key member of the side since arriving at Liverpool from Fulham in
2003.
Finnan had been keen to extend his stay at Liverpool and the club
have moved to tie him down to a new long-term contract.
The 30-year-old follows Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Xabi
Alonso, Jose Reina and Mohamed Sissoko in signing a new deal this
summer.
