Chelsea consider legal action
Chelsea are considering taking legal action against several
European newspapers after striker Andriy Shevchenko was once again
linked with a move to European champions Milan.
Jose Mourinho was alleged to have given an interview about the
misfiring Ukrainian's future to a number of European papers
prompting Chelsea to strongly deny the reports and threaten taking
the case to court.
A statement from Chelsea read: "Chelsea Football Club and Jose
Mourinho totally refute any of the comments that have appeared in
European newspapers regarding Andriy Shevchenko.
"The manager has not given any interviews to any media outlets on
this subject and the club and Jose Mourinho are now considering
legal action."
The former Milan favourite has been persistently linked with a move
back to the San Siro after enduring a difficult first season in the
Premiership, during which he netted just four league goals.
