Dudek considers Real Madrid
move
Liverpool goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek has confirmed that he is
weighing up an offer to join European heavyweights Real
Madrid.
The Polish goalkeeper is out of contract and has been linked with a
move to the likes of Benfica and Real Betis since Liverpool manager
Rafael Benitez decided not to renew his contract at Anfield.
Since his heroics in the penalty shoot-out that helped Liverpool
win the Champions League in 2005, Dudek, 34, has only made 12 first
team appearances.
The arrival of Jose Reina pushed him to number two but he would
play understudy to another Spaniard at the Bernabeu, where Iker
Casillas dons the gloves.
However, Dudek said: "After today's press speculation, I must admit
that I have received an offer from one of the greatest clubs in the
world, if not the greatest one.
"I was able to keep it in the dark for a long time, because the
first contact was established a dozen or so days ago.
"The offer is an honour for me. I am seriously considering it now.
As for now, I can say that a few details have already been agreed
upon."
