Rafa Benitez is keen for
Liverpool not to be distracted by thoughts of a UEFA Champions
League semi-final.
Fresh from seeing off PSV Eindhoven in midweek, The Reds returned
to Premiership matters with a 0-0 draw at Manchester City.
Though the game was a forgettable affair, Bolton Wanderers' defeat
at Arsenal ensures Liverpool remain firmly in the top four.
Benitez is eager for his side to secure a place in next season's
Champions League and has upcoming home matches with Middlesbrough
and Wigan Athletic to prepare for.
Following that double-header is the first leg of the semi-final
with Chelsea, but Benitez wants the focus to be on the
Premiership.
"For us at this stage of the season playing in the Champions League
semi-final in a few days, it was important to win because maybe we
could secure a top four position," Benitez told the popular
website.
"But we don't lose, so we have one more point and Bolton have
lost.
"We need to keep going and keep winning, and focus on every
game.
"After that we have time to think about the Champions
League."
